Marie Council’s love for the arts began in College where she
majored in music education. Her desire to help others experience
her love for music and theatre began in Washington, DC where she
taught music for the District of Columbia Public School System. During
her tenure she produced countless plays and concerts with her students
and in her community.
After her extensive career in education, she continued in her pursuit
to explore a career in the arts. She began an intensive program in
Musical Theatre at Trinity College in Washington, DC in the summer
of 1988 and then at the Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York in the
summer of 1989 where she completed coursework in acting, voice, speech
and movement. In addition, she also has received extensive training
from professionals such as Franchell Dorn (Actress), John Burr (
John Burr Productions) and Elisabeth
Noone (Voiceover Talent/Actress).
Most recently, Marie can be heard on a commercial for Industrial
Bank of Washington for News Channel 8. She has also been featured
on “Smoking Pipes VII, No. 2” produced by John Burr and
she completed her demo with commercials, narrations, and audio books.
In conclusion, Marie is a dynamic talent and is a proven professional
in her field. She has the ability to work with little direction and
is enthusiastic about new possibilities. Obtaining her services would
be an asset to any project.
